Yes. Yes. Yes. I could drink these all day.

Kinja'd!!!

Very smooth, lots of coffee flavor. Not as hoppy as I expected it would be. I’ll be drinking quite a few of these over the next few months since it’s apparently their fall beer.

Narragansett makes a coffee milk stout and it’s what I drink for most of the winter.

My local(ish) Kroger had it in their make-your-own 6-pack selection...but the 6-pack of it was $16.99 there.

It’s from Stone. They could make ATF and it would taste great.

I’ll look out for that in a few months. Southern Tier makes a fantastic creme brûlée milk stout that I’ve had only once, and it made me want to try more milk stouts.

This is true. So glad they opened a brewery here. *goes off to buy $9 bottle of Imperial Russian Stout*

Don’t be surprised if it’s on the expensive side. IIRC a Kroger near me had 6-packs of it for $16.99. They also had it in their $10 make-your-own 6-pack section, so I tried one. Totally worth it.

That’ll be a bargain :) I’ve bought single 22s that were in the $14 range, (usually barrel aged stouts, but still)

Some of Dogfish Head’s harder brews (Fort, Higher Math, 120 Minute IPA) run $10.99 per 12 ouncer at my local beer shop, so I feel your pain. Stone’s 2016 Imperial Russian Stout was about $9 for a 22 at Kroger. Tried it at the Richmond brewery last week...really good.

It truly is good. Exit 15, another coffee IPA, from Flying Fish is also amazing.

If I still lived back east, I’d just drink Yuengling most of the time! Never since have I had such a palatable dollar beer in my life. Alas, here in Portland we have absolutely no shortage of great beers to choose from but our choices in the low range are nonexistent (unless you consider PBR adequate, I do not)

Yuengling is good, yeah. Here in Richmond we have lots of choices as well, both ends of the spectrum. I think the most “normal” beer I’ve drank within the past year was a Sam Adams, though.

Time to swing by the brewery after work and check it out.

Oooo... even better, we were talking about going out to dinner tonight, and the Stone restaurant is a way better choice than what was previously suggested.

Supposedly their Richmond brewery is going to open a restaurant in a year or two. The brewery itself only opened in March and right now there’s just a food truck.

Hmm, I don’t think I’ve ever seem Sam Adams on tap here now that I think of it, and generally if I’m buying bottles, I’d buying at least mid grade.

I saw in the comments that a six-pack from Stone is around $16.99. That’s pretty much par for the course in Ottawa craft breweries. Ontario taxes out the arse for alcohol and it’s incredibly frustrating.

I picked this up in Vermont for 8 USD, which is absolutely unfathomable in Ontario and even in Quebec where beer tends to be more reasonably priced. Alcohol prices in Canada lead me to believe that the country hates its own citizens.

Yeah, it was off tap at a local restaurant we’d never been to. It was the least mainstream beer they had there, sadly. Kind of odd since most local places have at least one local/regional brew on tap.

12 for $8 is a good deal. Don’t think I’ve seen anything that cheap here.

Huh.

I’d definitely try it, but mocha in an IPA sounds weird. There’s a coffee place near me (Seattle, Anchorhead for any locals) that makes a hopped cold brew coffee which tastes like someone peed in it (and I like IPAs and strong black coffee on their own). How much chocolate flavor is there?

So just had it, and it was good, but not my favorite. For me, it has an interesting aftertaste that reminds me of a chili beer (like their Chipotle Smoked Porter) but without the heat.

If they end up with the same, or similar menu out there, the Ruination Cheese Soup is fantastic.

Not that much. To me the coffee was the dominant flavor, but there was a hint of chocolate in there.
